Celebrating Our 5oth Anniversary

Shepherd of the Valley has been educating children in the West Valley for 50 years. We believe in developing children with high academic standards and strong personal values. Our focus is on teaching the whole child in a safe, beautiful, nurturing Christian environment. Call us for a tour.

Small class sizes

Class size is limited to 20 students, giving teachers the opportunity to pay individualized attention to each student.

Spanish in all grades

From simple vocabulary in Kindergarten to advanced grammar and usage in 6th grade, Spanish is offered to students at every level.

Music Education

Students take music class and participate in an annual Christmas pageant and Spring Sing for family and friends.

Technology in all classrooms

Classrooms have new computers, document cameras, and projectors. Every student takes computer classes in our technology lab.

Physical Education

P.E. classes are held four times a week as a part of the school's philosophy to educate the whole child.

Full sports program for girls and boys

More than 80 percent of our students participate in afterschool sports through the Christian Elementary Athletic League. In 2011, both our girls' softball team and our boys' flag football team won their respective championships.

Dedicated Parents

Our parents and families are actively involved in making SOV a warm and inviting environment. There are many ways for parents to contribute their time and talents, leading to a greater sense of community and helping to form lasting friendships.

Club House Extended Care

Our extended before and after-school program provides snack, homework help, exercise and loving care.

Serve God by Serving Others

This year our theme is based on Matthew 25:40 - Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.

Chapel services throughout the year will teach ways to serve, and students and staff will demonstrate this service in their daily lives. We also celebrate SOV's renewed and expanded efforts to be an eco-friendly school by continuing practices already in place as well as introducing new and exciting additions. We rejoice in the opportunities to live our theme, "Serve God by Serving Others."
