About Our School
Shepherd of the Valley has been educating children in the West Valley for 50 years. We believe in developing children with high academic standards and strong personal values. Our focus is on teaching the whole child in a safe, beautiful, nurturing Christian environment.
Small Classes
Class size is limited to 20 students, giving teachers the opportunity to pay individualized attention to each student.
Faith and Spirituality
Faith and spirituality are important pieces of our mission to develop well-rounded children. Our students attend weekly chapel services and study Bible lessons that help open discussions about how to make good choices in their lives based on a loving attitude toward all of humanity.
Spanish in Every Grade
From simple vocabulary in Kindergarten to advanced grammar and usage in 6th grade, Spanish is offered to students at every level.
Music Education
All students take music classes and participate in an annual Christmas pageant and Spring Sing program for family and friends.
Technology In the Classroom
Classrooms have new computers, document cameras, and projectors. Every student takes computer classes in our technology lab.
Physical Education
P.E. classes are held four times a week as a part of the school's philosophy to educate the whole child.
Full Sports Program
More than 80 percent of our students participate in afterschool sports through the Christian Elementary Athletic League. In 2012, our girls' and co-ed soccer teams, and our boys' basketball team were all league champions!
Dedicated Parents and Loving Community
Our parents and families are actively involved in making SOV a warm and inviting environment. There are many ways for parents to contribute their time and talents, leading to a greater sense of community and helping to form lasting friendships.
Club House Extended Care
Our extended before and after-school program provides snack, homework help, exercise and loving care.
Growing in Faith for Life

WE ARE AN ECO-FRIENDLY CAMPUS.
